CO Trip Pictures

So, apparently we haven’t emptied our cameras since we left FL!!! Well, there has been a whooooole lot of other things to do between then and now. So I will have several posts to post today.  This first one being some of our trip across the country.

Here’s the kiddo’s at the Benton Battery that overlooks the Mississippi River.  We read all about the huge ol battle there.  It was like one of the main supply lines from north to south, and a lot of other really cool stuff.  At the time I thought that the hike we took up the stairs there would kill me.  Since being in CO though, and many many many stair climbs later…. those stairs are a cake walk. 😛 (no the boys haven’t gotten their hair cut yet. each of them have about another two or three inches of growth on their heads now, and 10 yo ds is now wearing his hair in two ponytails ‘Jedi style’ he calls it :-P)Image

Here is thee most beautiful shot of the bridges in that same area at sunset.  We must have sat watching the sun, and the boats on the river, and the trains going, for a good 45 minutes or more. It was a wonderful stretch out of the van after so much driving.Image

Two evenings later we hit the edge of CO!!!! What a glorious sign!  There were lots and lots of people stopping to get pictures in this little spot! Right after this, I learned how to down shift, and ride the 6% and 8% grades coming out of the mountains! Gaaaahhh! Even scarier for dh in the 26 foot moving truck, I reckon. LOL

I have a few more pics to show also, but since this is going to be a picture intensive day, I guess I’ll just get on to the next post.
